What You Need to Do Before You Start Buying & Selling on Ebay?
There are a few basic things that you need or need to do before you can start buying and selling on eBay or any auction.
1. Credit Card
You will need to have a Credit Card to open an account with Pay Pal which is the most acceptable, proven and safe means for payment.
Your Credit Card number will not be revealed during payment.
2. Pay Pal Account
Pay Pal is the safer and easier way to make payment without exposing your credit card or bank account number.
PayPal can be used to buy items on the Internet too and not limited to transactions on eBay. It is widely accepted globally for electronic transactions on the Internet.

3. eBay Account
You can opened an account in your our country as eBay has a few sites like eBay France, eBay Germany, eBay Australia, eBay Singapore, eBay India, eBay Malaysia, eBay Philippines, and so on.
Just fill up the form shown on your PC screen and provide the relevant details required.

4. Digital Camera (Optional but Recommended)
You should take good photos of items that you are selling as this will enable the Buyers to see what they are buying.
You will have some advantage over those Sellers that do not have photos of similar items on sale.
It is very simple to upload digital photos or images but please remember to re-size them as you do not need a big or very high resolution image for Web.
An entry-level digital camera should be able to get you reasonable digital images required.
5. Items to Sell
Finally, you just need to look around your home for used items that are no longer used but occupying storage space.
As the item has to be sent by post, it has to be of reasonable size and not items like an old chair or 14” portable TV otherwise the delivery cost would be very high.
I would like to suggest that before you post any items for sale, it would be wise to look at similar items that are being auctioned and see how the Sellers do their postings; e.g. how photos are taken from different angles, how an item is thoroughly described.
In fact, you should look for a cheap item that cost only a few dollars and you should have a go at bidding for it. This is to give you a feel of the whole transaction from bidding to settlement to receipt of the item. This experience will benefit you when you start selling your items.

Is it best to pay for catalogues, bills over the phone without speaking directly to an advisor?
I did this last week and the company said they did not receive the money, although they sent me a letter to say the payment did not go through for some reason. Although, they knew I made a payment they passed my details onto a credit agency to chase me for debt,which I did not owe. Has anyone else had this experience, if so what can I do about this problem? Lastly, they added a late payment charge to the money they said I owe.

THIS is why I pay bills through my bank's website...
I enter in the amount/payee and they process the checks and give me a Confirmation Number so if a bill never arrives or they try to say I didn't pay, I have a confirmation number from my bank proving when I authorized the payment.
Business wise, when I do this each month, I send the company I am paying a fax/email with the date, time, amount, expected arrival date, and the bank issued confirmation number so they can't say "We have no idea what you are talking about"...
"Really? You claim I NEVER attempted to pay you and that I NEVER contacted you regarding payment? Well, here is the screen shot of the bill payment, here is a copy of the fax and the fax log for that month showing that the fax/email went through successfully..." etc. etc. etc.

Nintendo DS Lite Charger Issues..!?
Okay, so I rescently got a nintendo DS lite as a gift, brought from America. I'm in China right now. So I went to this place called 'The Electronics Project' somewhere in Beijing and bought a new one. I plug it in, and hook it to my DS and it doesn't charge. I thought it was charging but it wasn't so it was just sitting there all night (with like 1 hr of play) I played it in the morning and it died due to low battery. So I try to charge it, but it won't charge! When I shake the charger you can hear something rattling inside. I have my american 120v charger on me, but I'm afraid that if I plug it in, it'll explode. So inside the bathroom there's this electric socket and it says "110v Shavers Only" would that work? I really need an answer it's so boring here...
Unfortunately Chinese appliances do not work with American appliances.
The American charger would work, of course, however plugging it in may be dangerous. You may want to try to get your hands on a Chinese DS. That would be your best bet.

Is there a website where I can set a transparent background on a gif image for free?
I know that this can be done with some software like PhotoShop, which I don't have and don't want to buy. I think I have seen website where you can do this for free, but now I can't find it in a web search engine. Does anyone know what website will do this?
