i bought things online before i was 18, am i obligated to pay?

i purchased a bunch of items online through abcdistributing and ltdcommodities when i was 16 or 17, a couple hundred worth, buy now pay later sort of thing, they won't stop calling and sending letters, because i am in a contract to pay, but here in Iowa you cannot legally enter into a contract until your 18, plus they sent me margarita mix and in the store you can't even buy that here until your 18, so am i legally obligated to pay or can i have it removed from my credit??? i know it's my fault but they had my ss# and everythng they should've known i wasn't 18....

You have some terrible answers here.

True that if you lied about your age it could constitute fraud, but other than that you do not have any obligation to pay this debt, assuming you did not continue charging to these accounts after you turned 18.

Send certified letters to the collection agencies and credit bureaus stating that you were a minor when this debt was incurred and it needs to be removed immediately.

I remember about 2 years ago,when the guy I dated use to use AIM ,that they use to charge for some icons,themes,and backgrounds and meez or something like that. Say I'm selling 20 tickets, each time someone purchases an item, this obviously goes down to 19.

Paypal will "sell" anything your site allows. You have to set the limit, keep track of how many are available, note "Sold out", etc. by your code on your site.

I have never heard of a recruiting agency who does the "fly now pay later".

In the Philippines, recruiters for jobs abroad even ask tremendous amounts of money from the applicants that some literally have to sell their carabaos and farm land just to cough up the money needed. Without the deposit, your application papers cannot even be sent to prospective employers. Plus, from the recruiter's perspective, how can they make sure that you will pay them later for their fees?

This is most especially true with visas. Recruiters can only help you provide the employment paperwork needed for the visa, but the visa application will depend on you. Take for example you apply to be a cruise ship staff that will sail to America and you are from the Philippines. The recruiter can help you put together the supporting documents needed, but YOU are the one going to do the appearance and interview before the US Embassy Consul, not the recruiter.

There's no such thing as "fly now pay later" in the recruitment world.
