If you have the money, the housing market in Arizona, Nevada, California and Florida has great discounted prices. Right now, the government is trying to decide what to do with all of those "toxic mortgages." There's been an uptick in buying in the last two months, mainly from those looking for bargains. I doubt if the home prices in devastated regions would rise much. If anything they might get cheaper, depending on how the government handles this mess. There is way too much over leveraging already and a scarcity of credit that makes the big players hestitate about rushing in to the housing market. It's going to take about two to three years to erase the debt from the books, and once that is done, home prices will rise again. Right now it's a good time to buy simply because of the bargains out there, nevertheless it's still dangerous time to buy because of all of the uncertainity on Wall Street.

how much will it cost me to refinance?

i have a mortgage with wells fargo. it's on its 3rd year of a 5 year interest only mortgage (big mistake). my current rate right now is 5.625 i am thinking about refinancing with a traditional 30 year fixed mortgae and i want to stay with wells fargo. what fees associated with refinancing with the same bank? and how does the buying points realty work. i live in NY.

there is 2 years left on your mortgage term, there is usually a penalty(a percentage of what you owe) that you will have to pay and it will be added to the new mortgage...find out the cost of doing it before you do it and see if it is to your advantage. get the bank to give you all the numbers..
try to set up a mortgage that you can pay weekly accelerated. even if your paycheck is every two weeks. you can put the money aside in the bank for the next payment. accelerated only adds 10 % on top of your payment, but in makes a big difference , going into a mortgage weekly reduces drastically the total amout of interest you will pay.. it is so the way to go...and adding the 10% is like an extra payment per year.......

A friend of my girlfriend bought a laptop from me. Since he plead his case that he doesn't have all the money up front (and he knows my girlfriend), I let him have the laptop for $100 up front, with the remaining $200 to pay later. Once he got it, however, I never heard from him again. He's now threating me for harassment phone calls (calls that I made to remind him to pay me). The problem is that the whole deal was based on a verbal contract and trust. Can I take this up with the police?

take them to the small claims court of the county he lives in. any contract that involves the sale of goods for less than $500 need not be in writing. but bring in all the evidence you have bc the burden of proof is on you and you should try to provide more than a he said he said situation. good luck

Disputing credit report information...?

Do you think I will have any luck if I dispute some information on my credit report that is technically true but it is only true because of a strange situation. I had a card with Sams Club. Now i had like a 15 dollar monthly payment to make. I went online to pay and put in my bank information and scheduled a payment. I get a message back later that it didn't go through. I go online and I call and talk to the people on the phone and they say that maybe my information was incorrect and to re-enter it so I do it again. It doesn't go through again. At this point I am behind and they put a negative mark on my credit report and they close my account. So what happened was I entered my bank account info and I was supposed to put like two additional 0's in front of it. So it didn't go through but I felt like their system should tell me if it knows my account # isn't long enough or something. I went into the store and paid it off in full but they won't remove the negative remark.

It sounds like this won't help, but rather that Sams Club will verify the info and it will have no effect on your credit. Still, if you are will to go thru a bit of hassle, disputing it on your credit could help and can't really hurt, so may as well give it a shot.
