My educational background is in the field of electronics. I just bought my son an Ovation acoustic/electric guitar. I paid about $240 dollars for it. And yes it has a made in China sticker on it. I am listening to him play it right now. He is trying to learn to play the song "wish you were here" by pink floyd and it sounds excellent. My question is, that this song was made back in the late 70's or early 80's, so is the technology of cheap guitar making today surpassed the tech of the 70's or 80's. If my son took this guitar back to the 70's, would they marvel the technology of this new guitar? If I took my laptop to the 70's they would probably call me a witch.
cheap guitars are hit and miss really you can get some REAL nice ones cheap, I have this Epiphone Les Paul Special II that I got for 200 bucks and it plays beautifully but it sounds rather mediocre. But in all honesty most vintage guitars have better quality control but newer ones have things that vintage instruments didn't have so really it depends.

I can get some of the stuck video going if I press the back button and forward. Is it something wrong with my internet connection or is it something on Google's side?

Will I have a problem getting a credit card with this Fico Score?
OK Here's the situation...... I have a FICO score of 663 according to the purchase of my Equifax credit report on myfico.com....I own a "annual payment visa card with a limit of $750 (increased from original of $250) over the last year and a half and WalMart Credit card with a limit of about the same (increased as well)..... I want to buy an engagement ring for my girlfriend. I have $3,200 in cash and the ring I want is $4700, so I need to finance the last $1,500. My best financial choice would be to get a credit card with a 12 month 0% APR, so I can pay the $1,500 off no problem in 12 months. BUT, I don't want to apply for some of these cards, (Most are platinum) if it will hurt my credit score if I'm rejected. Will I be accepted? My balance on the other two cards is like $100 total, I've paid them off consistently. (never late) but I am improving on past credit problems from like 7 years ago. . Will I get rejected for these 0% Introductory APR cards?
It is really hard to say as there are considerable factors involved. First off how close to limits are you? That is one count against you right there. Second age of account. If they are lessthen 6 months old forget it. Third is there any negative on your report especially recent? That will count against you.Fourth your score is not he best right now it is ok hopefully heading towards good. FICO scores can vary up or down typically down though from different lenders. The Score you paid for will probably not match what they pull. On average your score can vary by as much as 50 points. That to depends upon which score system is used not all lenders have adopted the new scoring sytem and some even contribute other factors into it. Just making an educated guess here nut your odds are about 30% chance you will get approved. It again depends upon the card issuer. There are some issuers that will take the lower score you have and yes you can still qualify for incentives. I would say try three places and see what happens if after the third it doesn't then you may want to pull your credit reports and review them carefully.

I'm so aggravated! We booked a flight and found the nonstop flight cost way more, 97.00. So we went with the flight that has one stop and is lots cheaper. So I checked today and suddenly the non stop flight is available again and down 102.00!! It's too late to change now, cause we already paid for the other, but what gives? Why do airfares and flights vary daily? I should mention that the trip we want to take isn't for another 3 months, so it's not like a last minute thing. I sure am po'd!!!

I started my job 4 months ago and I have only accrued 4 vacation days. I was planning on going away for a week before I started. But they needed me to start earlier and the person that hired me said if I started early, I could just take my vacation at a later time. Now that I have asked my boss for 5 days off, she said "no leave without pay". I think since its one more day, she could bend the rules (she is a senior manager). Another co-worker said she took off a day without pay in her first month of being here, approved by her manager. How can I phrase my question for the extra day, so she will say yes?
There are two different questions here the way I look at it.
The first is that the company isn't living up to what they promised before you agreed to take the job. The second is that you want to keep the job and keep your boss happy yet still get what you where promised.
From my past experience, you don't ask for the extra day off. Instead, you tell them that it was promised to you as part of the hiring package (I am assuming that it was). Tell, her the name of who hired you and this was a condition of you taking the job. That is the answer to the first question I raised of how to get what you want from the company.
Now, if it is more of the second question I raised...then you might want to mentioned that this was promised to you when you where hired and ask her why? Yes, you do need to state that you know others have been allowed to take unpaid days off. And then you can simply go over her head...because it seems to me that she isn't willing to work with you at all.
And is that really a job you want?
